NCPSLs VCs visit to Jalgaon in January

Vice Chairman of National Council for Promotion of Sindhi language, Shri Shrikant Bhatia toured Jalgaon for two days and apprised people especially Sindhis of the different schemes of the organisation.

Most of the target audience was unaware of the excellent work undertaken by the council, at the Sindhi colony and they attended a meeting organized for the same in large numbers. The meeting was also attended by eminent Sindhi residents of Jalgaon with good social standing.

When Shri Bhatia disseminated information about the various schemes of NCPSL the residents attending the meeting complained that no representative of NCPSL had ever visited Jalgaon and they had been overlooked and ignored in spite of having a sizeable population of 25000 plus.

The audience gave several important suggestions that the vice-chairman noted down himself. Prominent among them were the setting up of a cultural centre, regular classes for learning Sindhi. The vice chairman clarified that ever since he joined office in July last year he had decided to visit several places to familiarise the residents of the activities of the Council. For this purpose he traveled extensively to Ajmer, Katni, Ullasnagar, Indore, Chembur, Bairagadh, and Jalgaon. Next in the agenda are tours of Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, Alwar,Sholapur and other places. Apart from this Youth Festivals, Children’s Festival and Seminar on Women will be organized in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Delhi, Gandhidham and Baroda have been successfully held in the last six months.

Shri Bhatia till now has met more than 3000 people and organized examinations in 20 centres with great enthusiasm and personally supervised the same. Other eminent members of the Council namely Renu Idnani, Baldev Matlani, Manohor Matlani, Vimmi Sadarangani, Satish Rohra, Shyam Jumani, and staff members like Ms. Richa, Bhopal Mehra, Kannan Raju, Praveen Kumar etc visited faraway places like Gandhidham and Nadiad to conduct examinations. Approximately 1500 students wrote the exam and this is definitely one of the most prominent achievements of the Council.
